There are so many activities in Vancouver for the upcoming Winter Olympics. I don’t have time to visit them all, and some of them are “boring”… haha… the full list of Olympic Activities is here. http://www.citycaucus.com/2010free#5407
Here are some of the places that I am thinking of going and check things out.
Bombardier Streetcar
A modern and “high-end” European streetcar will shuttle passengers by rail between the Canada Line and the “French Quarter” at Granville Island.
Casa Italia
Italian food and wine and products!
The historic Roundhouse Community Centre will play home to the 2010 pavilion known as Casa Italia. The pavilion will be open to the public and will feature some of the best food, drink and entertainment that Italy has to offer. I don’t mind going there to eat and drink some Italian food and wine! Casa Italia will be open daily to the public between Feb 6 – 28th from noon until 6pm daily. The pavilion is only one block north of the LiveCity Yaletown.
German Saxony House
German food and wine and products!
You’ll have the opportunity to watch the games, meet medal winners, listen to live music and enjoy traditional German food and drinks.
Heineken House (Holland)
Holland food, Heineken beer, music, dancing and famous Holland DJ’s! Only problem is it’s in Richmond, but should be easy to get to using new skytrain.
Nightly laser light shows which will take place at the LiveCity Yaletown location. A large pipe in False Creek will stream water high into the air providing the backdrop for what will become a vivid backdrop to all the excitement. Across False Creek you will be able to see the Olympic Athlete’s Village.
LiveCity Downtown + Yaletown (LiveCity
Since I still have to go to work everyday during Olympics, these events are almost just outside my office! It will be easy to go to…
O Zone Richmond (リッチモンド)
Big… big parties… lots of things to do I think.
Mammoth ice art, massive high-definition screen, outdoor skating on real ice, entertainment from around the region and around the world, art, athletes, exhibits, virtual reality, food, fireworks and concerts! The Taiwanese band FIR will be playing a free concert on February 12 I think, I will try to go to their concert because I like their music.
Ziptrek Vancouver (Robson Square) Ziptrek
I want to do this!! And it’s FREE!!! Only 5 minutes walking from my office!
